Erik Nitsche archive and exhibition project

at Lausanne Public Library

During my reserach stay in New York in 2017, I had the chance to locate the only archive left by Swiss graphic designer Erik Nitsche. For years, the material had been waiting quitly in the warehouse of a small bookstore. Thanks to Nitsche’s close links with the history of book industry in Switzerland, the archive has since been acquired by the Lausanne Public Library, processed, and displayed to the public through an exhibition curated by Olivier Lugon and myself.
